My trip to Nicosia, Cyprus was filled with rich history, delicious food, and beautiful sights. From exploring the numerous museums and ancient buildings, to shopping at the local markets and indulging in the local cuisine, there was never a dull moment. The hospitality and warmth of the Cypriot people made my visit even more memorable, and I can't wait to return to this wonderful city.

Day 1

Exploring the Heart of Nicosia

  • Start the day with a hearty breakfast at The Food Lodge, known for their home-cooked meals.

  • Visit the Selimiye Mosque, which was originally built as a cathedral in the 13th century, and which today stands as one of the city's most impressive landmarks.

  • Enjoy lunch at the To Anamma Restaurant, located in the heart of the village of Kakopetria.

The best way to get to Nicosia, Cyprus by plane is to fly into Larnaca International Airport and then take a taxi or bus to Nicosia. The airport is located approximately 42 km south of Nicosia, and there are several airlines that operate flights to Larnaca from major cities around the world.

Car

If you're traveling from other parts of Cyprus, the best way to get to Nicosia, Cyprus is by car. The city is easily accessible from all major cities on the island.
